What to wear first time?

Before you are allowed to mount a horse you need to be dressed properly for your own safety and comfort. First of all you need a helmet. In case of an accident, it will protect your head from an injury.

It is important to wear good riding boots that are comfortable and not too wide so they do not to get stuck in the stirrups. For the beginning, a knee or ankle height boot with a low heel is fine.

You should consider wearing gloves that have a no-slip grip on the palm so you will be able to hold on to the reins to guide the horse.

You will need a pair of riding pants to protect your legs. They need to have the right thickness without thick seams that will scrape you as you ride.
