We just received a shipment of KEP helmets (www.kepitalia.com). KEP Italian helmets are one of the most safest helmets for horse riding.

Read below an article from the manufacturer about this product.

WHY KEP HELMETS ARE THE SAFEST IN THE WORLD
Our helmets are known worldwide to be the best in terms of safety: but what makes them so safe?

First of all, there are five international safety homologation centers that certify that our helmets are safe. And to be able to say this, they test our helmets over and over to make sure they pass all the tests that prove they are able to absorb the impact in case of a horse fall, thus protecting the head of the rider. The statement that we make when we say that our helmets are safe is not just some words: there’s data and numbers to prove it. And not only do the certifications inspectors check our helmets once: they do it throughout the year, asking to periodically receive samples of our production to make sure it stands up to the standards, testing each new product and coming to our premises to check on us. The investment in terms of time, products, energies and money is really high on safety, but to produce the safest possible helmets was our objective since the very beginning and we are not looking back.

If you want to know more about the tests that our helmets undergo, you can read this article where we talk about them.

But why do our helmets pass all the safety tests so easily?

First of all they are made with the best available materials on the market: laser perforated steel, super light and super resistant honeycomb structures, aluminum, DDQ stainless steel, kevlar, polycarbonate, technologic, hypoallergenic and antistatic fabrics,…: all superior materials that make our hats safer and capable of absorbing shocks.

The chin-strap, on its side, is made of a special leather which does not stretch in case of traction during a horse fall and, with five connection points to the helmet, it won’t rip off the helmet. The way the helmet is fastened around the head is of extreme importance: it should not be loose under your chin and it always has to be laced. If these two simple rules are observed, our helmets will be able to protect your head in case of a fall or other shock.

Other safety highlights regard the front and the rear parts of our helmets: the back is longer than the standard, which means that our helmets are able to protect a bigger portion of your head in the area of your nape. As far as the front is concerned, the peaks we use for our helmets are all flexible: this is to avoid having a gudgeon point when falling and to reduce the case of nose and face injuries in case of a frontal fall from a horse.

Another important topic when we talk about safety, is that the helmet perfectly fits your head. If the helmet is too big it’s loose around your head and it can fly away during a fall, but if it is too small it soon becomes comfortless and induces the rider to stop wearing it. This is why we put extra attention to helmet fitting and why we decided to produce two different size of helmets as far as the shell is concerned: one fits small to medium heads, the other the larger ones. The final fitting is done with the inner pads, each of them with its own size and shape, perfectly fitting any head: that bigger or that smaller, standard or special shapes included. This is why it really is impossible not to be able to find the perfect fit with the safest helmet in the world.
